Who’s that girl called Miss World 2018?

In the field of boxing, it was always Mexico and the Philippines that stopped the world if only to watch a boxing match.

In a beauty pageant however, it was Miss Mexico who bagged the title for the 2018 Miss World competition against 117 gorgeous hopefuls.

Just who is this girl who took home the highly coveted crown?

Miss Mexico Vanessa Ponce de Leon is a 26 year old beauty queen who seems to have it all — beauty, brains and a big heart!

She graduated with a degree in International Business from the University of Guanajuato, earning a diploma in Human Rights, speaking for the National Youth Institute, and to being on the board of directors of a rehab center for girls. In a report by Rappler, she is quoted as saying, “I am a woman who is always searching for a purpose,”

Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is a humanitarian and works at the a school called Nenemi and teaches intercultural education to children of various indigenous tribes.

She loves art and painting, and does not mind being artsy on her free time. However, she is not to be mistaken as an art geek because she also enjoys the outdoors. In fact, she is a qualified open water scuba diver! She also plays volleyball and ultimate Frisbee.
