Rachelle Ann Go bags int’l Best Actress award for “Hamilton” role

Filipino singer-actress Rachelle Ann Go has added another award to her long list of accolades after she bagged the Best Actress in the 2018 BroadwayWorld UK.

Go won the award for her role as Eliza Schuyler Hamilton in the West End production of the award-winning musical play “Hamilton”, which talks about the life of American founding father Alexander Hamilton.

The Filipino theater actress took to Twitter to express her gratitude to everyone who voted for her.

Aside from the Go’s award, “Hamilton” also won Best Actor in a New Production of a Musical for Giles Terera, Best Supporting Actor in a New Production of a Musical for Jason Pennycooke, and Best New Production of a Musical.

Aside from her newly received award, the Filipina singer has previously received critical acclaim from major publications such as Newsweek, The Guardian and The New York Times for her portrayal of Eliza.

Prior to her role in Hamilton, Go has also starred in other musical productions both in the Philippines and in other countries, such as The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Les Misérables, and Miss Saigon.
