Filipino actor stars in Indonesian adaptation of ‘Meteor Garden’

Filipino actor-model Teejay Marquez is starting to make a name for himself after appearing as an F4 member in the Indonesian adaptation of “Meteor Garden”.

In an interview with PUSH, the 25-year-old actor said that he started his showbiz career in Indonesia in 2016 which made him learn the country’s native language, Bahasa.

He said that he could now speak Bahasa fluently but he still has problems perfecting the accent.

“Diretso na ako magsalita pero ’yung accent they find it funny kaya parang kahit anong sabihin ko natatawa sila. Comedian ba ako? Sige na nga!” he said.

Marquez said that he has a private tutor to help him learn the language quicker, especially when he joined the cast of “Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta (STJC),” the Indonesian remake of the hit Taiwanese series “Meteor Garden.”

Marquez played the role of Sean, who is the counterpart of Xi Men in “Meteor Garden”.

The series, which ended last month, aired for almost 8 months.

Now, Marquez is back in the Philippines to spend the holidays with his family but will return to Indonesia afterward for other projects.
