Filipino expats from Dubai and the other parts of the UAE flocked towards the Al Nasr Leisureland last Friday, September 28 to witness world class performances from three of the Philippines’ top singing sensations this year. BoybandPH, TNT Boys, and Janine Berdin wowed the crowds with their impressive performances, singing both originals and covers of songs that fans enjoyed listening to live on stage in the concert organized by Merab Events and Exhibition.
The night started with sizzling song and musical performances from the Dubai Young Idols – singer Josh Labing-isa, violinist and singer Ian Tocle, as well as Katrina Casia who recently won the Burjuman’s Rising Stars championship.
It was then followed by an explosive song performance by all three featured performers – with TNT Boys taking center stage first. Francis Concepcion, Mackie Empuerto, and Kiefer Sanchez who rose as the grand champions for the second season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” sang their popular covers such as Bee Gees’ “Too Much Heaven”, The Greatest Showman’s “This is Me”, Jessie J’s “Bang Bang” and “Flashlight”.
Ford Valencia, Joao Constancia, Niel Murillo, Russell Reyes, and Tristan Ramirez collectively known as BoybandPH swooned the crowd with their slick dance moves and charm with hundreds of fans swinging their banners and tarpaulins for their favorite band member. The winners of ABS-CBN’s reality show Pinoy Boyband Superstar sang Iñigo Pascual’s “Dahil Sa’ yo” as they descended from the stage to approach the audience as well as one of their latest original singles “Pa’no Ba.”
The concert capped with explosive performances by Tawag ng Tanghalan’s second season Grand Champion Janine Berdin who wore a black sleeveless gown with intricate embroideries and Swarovski crystals with beaded tassels created by UAE-based International Fashion Designer and 2015 TFT Rizal Awardee Michael Cinco. Berdin performed several covers, including her winning piece for Tawag ng Tanghalan of Bamboo’s greatest hits: Tatsulok, Noypi, and Hallelujiah
