Liza Diño admits experiencing financial struggles due to “low” salary of gov’t job

Liza Diño admitted that their family has experienced financial difficulties because her income from her government job is not as high from her salary as an actress.

No doubt that Diño is enjoying her time as the current head of the Film Development Council of the Philippines but she revealed that they were not able to save much money because the amount of her salary is nowhere near her earnings in the entertainment industry, reported PEP.ph.

She even added that monetary issues where some of the reasons why her husband, singer Ice Seguerra, decided to give up his position as chairperson of National Youth Commission earlier this year.

“Di ba pareho kaming nasa gobyerno last year? So talagang wala kaming ipon kasi ang suweldo dito sa gobyerno minus the tax. I mean, meron kaming lifestyle na na-maintain na before we became government workers,” PEP.ph quoted Diño as saying.

“So nag-suffer yun, at ngayon pa lang ulit bumabalik lahat ng mga show ni Ice. Sabi ko nga, ‘Ganda rin nitong may isang private person sa atin, no?’

“Yung hindi na kami nag-iisip tungkol sa gagastusin. So yun. Nag-iipon naman…Nagbabayad kami ng bahay. Nagbabayad kami ng kotse… may mga maintenance costs na kami.” she added.

Aside from their daily expenses and maintenance costs, Diño and Seguerra also want to save up money because they want to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) for them to have a baby.

According to Mayo Clinic’s website, IVF is a complex series of procedures wherein “mature eggs are collected (retrieved) from a woman’s ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. Then the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted in your uterus.” The said procedure is used to “treat fertility or genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child”.

PEP.ph reported that the said procedure, roughly costs a million pesos.

However, it is not only financial issues that Diño had to deal with because of her government job. She added that she had less time for family because of it too.

But she said that she has explained the nature of her job to her daughter, Amara, and she is hoping that her child will be able to understand her.
