Netizens express nostalgia after video of Sarah ‘fangirling’ over Regine went viral

A video of Sarah Geronimo ‘fangirling’ over Regine Velasquez went viral over the weekend wherein they are seen belting out the OPM classic song “Sana Maulit Muli”.

A giddy Geronimo is seen smiling from ear to ear while pointing to Velazquez as the latter sings her part of the song.

The video was uploaded by Facebook user Joever Hamoy Banquisio and has since garnered nearly 1 million views.

According to Radyo Inquirer, the video was taken during their rehearsals for their upcoming concert which will be viewed exclusively by the employees of a private company in Manila.

The said concert will take place on Monday, August 13, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It can be recalled that Geronimo and Velasquez previously performed the same song last year during the latter’s sold-out R30 concert held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

After the video went viral, there were some netizens who said that watching the video took them 15 years in the past when Geronimo was merely an amateur singer.

Before she became the country’s Popstar Royalty, Geronimo competed in “Star for A Night” which was hosted by the songbird in 2003. Her victory in this singer search catapulted her to fame.

Since then, Velasquez and Geronimo shared the stage and performed together on several occasions.

“Seeing Sarah G and Miss Regine sing a duet, grabe ka nostalgic. These two have a bond that no one ever has. Mother-daughter kaayo. Especially when Miss Reg said ‘Panganay ko ‘yan. Iniluwal ko ‘yan.’ I miss my childhood,” one netizen said.

Many other netizens simply expressed their love and admiration to the two singers.
