Mocha Uson to star with Hollywood actor in movie about illegal drugs

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson will be making a comeback on the big screen as she is set to appear in “Kaibigan”, a movie about the effects of illegal drugs on families.

Uson told the media that the main plot of the movie will tackle President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs and that she will be playing the role of a journalist who will deliver “good news” to the people.

“I would be myself kasi ganun naman ginagawa ko sa social media, bringing the good news.

“Ang sa akin kasi kung ano yung magbibigay ng positibo, ng good news dito sa bansa natin, susuportahan natin kasi ang mga Pilipino uhaw yan sa good news kaya nga nakatutok yan sa social media and kung maganda naman, positibo naman yung movie, inspirational, eh susuportahan natin,” CNN Philippines quoted Uson as saying.

The PCOO Asec also added that she has a huge respect for journalists because of their tedious work. She also said that she will be working on the movie for free as support to the current administration’s campaign to completely eradicate drugs in the country.

Tarney Perkins, the film’s producer, said in a press conference that Uson will have a key role in the film. “She’s doing what she really does best — reporting. She’s actually a reporter in the movie, and she reports on goodness, good things that are happening the community,” Perkins said.

Uson also clarified that she was asked permission from Communications Secretary Martin Andanar before doing the film.

Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin, who is known for his roles in the movies Born on the Fourth of July, Posse, The Usual Suspects, and The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, will be joining the said movie as its lead actor.

Aside from Baldwin and Uson, veteran actors Cesar Montano and Jean Garcia, and singers Christian and Jesse Perkins, collectively known as the Perkins Twins, will also appear on the movie.

“Kaibigan” is set to hit Philippine theaters this coming September.
