After the preliminary investigation of the lawsuits filed against Filipino actress Ellen Adarna on June 11, it was reported that the next hearing will be moved to a later date because the actress is expected to give birth anytime soon, according to a report of News 5.
The preliminary investigation for the cybercrime and child abuse rap filed against Adarna, which was attended by the actress’ boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz, lasted for 30 minutes.
According to MJ Marfori’s report for Aksyon Prime on TV5, Adarna’s lawyer filed a motion for trial rescheduling because the actress is expected to give birth to her child with Cruz in the coming days.
In a video post of MJ Felipe of ABS CBN News on Twitter, the actor is seen accompanied by Adarna’s legal counsel at the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
The legal complaints were filed last May 15 by the parents of a high school student whom Adarna accused as “paparazzi”.
On May 7, the mother of the student, Myra Santos, publicly addressed the issue thrown by Adarna at her daughter. She said on a Facebook post that Adarna’s paparazzi video, which was uploaded without their family’s consent, has caused them “unneeded stress and unwanted attention”.
The mother also condemned the actress for posting “a one-sided narrative”, adding that they have tried reaching out to the actress about the matter but the actress did not respond.
She had since asked a public apology from the actress, but Adarna failed to give.
