Why was Ellen Adarna’s court hearing moved to later date?

After the preliminary investigation of the lawsuits filed against Filipino actress Ellen Adarna on June 11, it was reported that the next hearing will be moved to a later date.

It can be recalled that it was Filipino actor John Lloyd Cruz who attended the preliminary investigation for the child abuse rap filed against his girlfriend.

In a video post of MJ Felipe of ABS CBN News on Twitter, the actor is seen accompanied by Adarna’s legal counsel at the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.

The legal complaints—cybercrime and child abuse—were filed last May 15 by the parents of a high school student whom Adarna accused as paparazzi.

On May 7, the mother of the student, Myra Santos, publicly addressed the issue thrown by Adarna at her daughter. She said on a Facebook post that Adarna’s paparazzi video, which was uploaded without their family’s consent, has caused them “unneeded stress and unwanted attention”.

The mother also condemned the actress for posting “a one-sided narrative”, adding that they have tried reaching out to the actress about the matter but the actress did not respond.

She had since asked a public apology from the actress, but Adarna failed to give.

According to online reports, the preliminary investigation lasted for 30 minutes and Adarna’s camp asked the court if they can move the hearing to June 25.
