Queen of All Media Kris Aquino revealed on Instagram that Special Assistant to the President Christopher ‘Bong’ Go has apologized to her after she cried foul over Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson’s video.
As seen in the said video, ASEC Uson compared an old clip showing a Filipina kissing Ninoy, with the recent video of President Rodrigo Duterte kissing a woman in South Korea which recently sparked backslash.
The clip of Ninoy was taken during his flight to Manila, moments before he was shot dead at the tarmac of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The edited clip includes the following texts: “Masagwa daw ito” (Duterte kissing a Filipina) “Pero ito pwede? Paki-explain!” (clip of women kissing Ninoy).
Kris responded to Uson’s video through an Instagram post which she shared on June 5.
Later that day, Kris, who is currently in Japan, posted a 17-minute long video on Facebook and Instagram venting her frustrations and warning Uson to quit tarnishing the name of her parents.
On Wednesday morning, Kris once again took to Instagram to let her followers know that she has reached out to SAP Go and the latter has since apologized for the incident.
“I took the courage to reach out to PRRD’s SA Bong Go… thank you Commissioner Aimee Neri for helping me reach him via text,” Kris started her post.
The Queen of All Media went on to thank SAP Go for replying to her messages and for the kindness he has shown towards her.
“I have known and liked him for 8 years. In this instance I am Ninoy Aquino’s daughter – he believed in the power of true and honest communication. SAP Bong, thank you for your reply. Thank you for taking my feelings as a daughter into consideration and showing me empathy,” she wrote.
“I am most grateful for a man as powerful as you are now for texting and vibering me the words ‘we are sorry for the incident’. You have my sincere gratitude,” she continued.
Kris ended her post by saying she just wants a united nation and that she loves the country as much as the President does.
“We all have one goal, a nation we can be proud of, and the best possible prosperous lives for all Filipinos. I love our country as much as our president does. I pray for peace and mutual respect for all of us. God bless you,” she said.
ASEC Uson has not released any further statement after posting the said video.
