Cedric Lee found guilty of kidnapping his daughter with Vina Morales

The Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court found businessman Cedric Lee guilty of kidnapping his daughter with singer-actress Vina Morales.

Documents obtained by ABS-CBN show, Lee was “guilty beyond reasonable doubt” and was ordered to pay a fine of Php300 on top of moral and nominal damages amounting to P50,000.

“The action of the accused in not immediately returning the custody of minor Ceana was premeditated, intentional and malicious, as he adamantly refused to return the custody of minor Ceana to the private complainant, through her sister, when he is legally obligated to do so,” the document read.

Morales filed the kidnapping case against Lee in 2016 after the latter detained their daughter, Ceana, in May that year.

The actress said that her former partner violated the court ruling which allowed him to visit their daughter every Saturday when he detained Ceana from May 13 to 22, 2016.

She added that their daughter experienced “slight behavioral changes” after her father took her.

Lee has previously denied the charges. He has also filed libel charges against the actress but such charges has since been dismissed.
