Filipino actor Dingdong Dantes has yet to set the record straight if he will indeed run for a senatorial position in the mid-term elections in 2019.

In an interview with PEP, the Kapuso actor remained mum about his political plans.

PEP reporters asked Dantes about his reaction to results of the latest Pulse Asia survey which revealed that he is one of the individuals who are expected to run in the next elections.

“Huwag na [nating] pag-usapan iyan,” Dantes responded with a smile.

When he was further asked if he has future plans to run for office, Dantes simply answered with a smile.

Speculations about Dantes running to become a senator started last month when he attended the leadership workshop “Philippine Emerging Leaders Initiative.”

Dantes and his wife Marian Rivera previously shared photos of the said workshop on their Instagram Stories.

The actor was also quoted in Ricky Lo’s column in The Philippine Star saying, “I will not deny that there are certain groups talking to me. Maybe the question should be… kailangan ba? I mean, I love my family, I love my work as an actor, and I also value my community work. Therefore, it is something that shouldn’t be answered only by me alone.”
