Filipino singer KZ Tandingan’s journey in “Singer 2018” was cut short after she got eliminated on the show’s ninth episode.

She returned, however, to the popular Chinese singing competition in its latest episode which was aired last Friday, not as a contestant, but as a guest performer.

Tandingan bid farewell to her Chinese fans by singing Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s hit song See You Again. She even replaced certain parts of the song with its Mandarin translation.

Her stellar farewell performance received loud applause and a standing ovation from the live audience members.

Tandingan’s elimination from the show was a talked-about topic online and it even trended on Chinese social media websites.

Tandingan stayed in the show for five episodes, earning her a large fan base in China as the competition is the most viewed TV show in China today, gaining more than 200 million viewers per episode.

After her elimination, many netizens are claiming that Tandingan still has a chance to regain her spot in the competition after the wildcard round.

According to ABS-CBN entertainment journalist MJ Felipe, the “Breakout” episode, which will bring back one of the eliminated contestants, will air two weeks from now.

The said episode will determine Tandingan’s fate in the said competition.
