Kapamilya singer Morissette Amon wept tears of joy after sharing the stage and singing two songs with her childhood idol, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, during her biggest concert to date, titled ‘Made’, held last February 21, 2018 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Tagged as Asia’s Phoenix, the 21-year-old Amon became emotional as the Asia’s Songbird performed her song titled, ‘Akin Ka Na Lang’.
Meanwhile, the Songbird said she was stunned at how Amon developed her singing skills at such a young age. She told the 21-year-old Star Magic artist, “Alam mo gagaling ka pa. At kapag gumaling ka pa, ‘wag mo na akong kausapin.”
The singing icon hailed Amon as the “new queen” in the Philippine music industry saying, “Hindi ko na kailangang ipasa ‘yung baton because for me, I think, you are already a queen.”
“Maraming magagaling, e. Pero iba ka talaga.
“Natutuwa ako na you just waited for your turn, and now this is your turn. I just want to say I think we have produced another superstar,” she added.
Left speechless by her idol’s admiration, Amon gave her a big hug, her way of expressing gratitude to the songbird.
She had long been joining talent search on TV shows, but only reached stardom after joining the first season of ABS-CBN’s singing competition The Voice Philippines in 2013.
