What’s next for KZ Tandingan in “The Singer 2018”?

There is nothing that’s going to stop KZ Tandingan as she progresses to the next round of “The Singer 2018”, a singing competition in China, as a regular contender and people are getting more hyped than ever.

The singer, who entered the competition as a challenger, will move onto the next stage as a regular contender next week after gaining the necessary average score.

According to the rules of The Singer, a challenger, such as Tandingan, will be given two chances to perform.

After the two performances, a challenger’s average score should be enough to earn him/her a spot in the top four in order to become a regular contender. If not, he/she will be eliminated and can no longer continue in the competition.

Now that Tandingan is a regular contender after her average scores placed her in the top three, she could only be eliminated if she ranks last based on the votes of the live audience.

On the other hand, a certain netizen claimed that results for the succeeding episodes of “The Singer” have been leaked and it showed that Tandingan will rank 4th in the next episode.

“Seeing last nights results there really is a high chance that this leak could actually be true. Since it’s rumored that they’ve already taped most episodes this week due to the Chinese New Year,” the netizen said.

However, the netizen also said that he is not completely sure if the leaked results are real as it only came from Chinese Wikipedia.

Last February 16, Tandingan sang a Mandarin song in the said competition and ranked sixth out of eight other singers based on the audience’s votes.

“I want to show my respect to the Chinese audience, Chinese culture, Chinese music,” the singer said in an interview answering why she decided to sing a Mandarin medley.

Even though her placement was a bit low, her high score last week was enough to keep her in the competition.

In a previous interview, Tandingan said that she would like to perform her rendition of Freddie Aguilar’s iconic song “Anak”, sung in both Filipino and Mandarin.

Tandingan also said that she is not aware if she will be receiving a monetary prize if she will win. However, the singer said that she is already thankful for the international exposure she has been given.

If she will be able to keep her spot in the competition, Tandingan will be joining the live finale of “The Singer” which will happen on April 13, 2018.
