Bruno Mars dominates Grammys 2018

Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, who has Filipino roots, won big at the Grammys, held on January 28, after taking home six awards.

He won all of his six nominations namely Record of the Year award for his song 24K Magic, the single of his album of the same name; Song of the Year, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Performance for his chart-topping song “That’s What I Like”; and Album of the Year and Best R&B Album for 24K Magic.

Aside from receiving awards, Mars also performed at the said ceremony. He sang his song “Finesse” with rapper Cardi B.

Celebrities and fans alike sent the 32-year-old singer congratulatory messages after his big win.

Mars won his first Grammy in 2017 for his song “Just The Way You Are” which won the award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

After the recently concluded awards ceremony, Mars now has received eleven Grammy awards and sixteen nominations.

Bruno Mars who hailed from Honolulu, Hawaii, has a Filipina mother, Bernadette San Pedro Bayot, who used to live in the Philippines before moving to the United States.
