ABS-CBN announced earning the rights for the remake of “Meteor Garden,” the Taiwanese drama that narrates the story of a girl who finds herself the apple of the eyes of four rich students at her university, known as the F4.
The series also first aired on ABS-CBN in 2003.
Its creator Angie Chai, reported ABS CBN, has been working on its sequel since last year.
The new F4 was introduced on Tuesday, revealed to be Taipei native Darren Cheng, 22, and Chinese actors Dylan Wang, 19, Connor Leong, 23, and Caesar Wu, 21.
The remake reportedly has a massive budget of US$23.74 million, which is 30 times larger than its 2001 predecessor.
No other details were revealed such as who will play specific roles.
