Winwyn’s family savors her victory

Family and friends congratulated the Philippines’s bet Teresita “Winwyn” Marquez upon her victory in this year’s Reina Hispanoamericana beauty pageant held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Nov. 4.

Marquez, the first Filipina to join the pageant, said she couldn’t believe that she’s indeed the winner in the prestigious pageant.

“Hindi ako makapaniwala. Totoo ito ‘di ba? Maraming, maraming salamat,” she said on her Instagram post.

Her boyfriend, actor Mark Herras, was elated following the news of her victory. In a Facebook post, Herras said, “OMG!!! Salamat lord!!! Ga!! Wala ako masabi! Congrats pangggaa!!! Ikaw na talaga 🙂 I love you!! Wow ga wow!! We are so proud of you!!!”

The beauty queen’s father, actor-comedian Joey Marquez, took to social media as well to tell the world how proud he is for the pride her that daughter has given to the country.

Actress Alma Moreno, Marquez’s mother, told GMA News that she cried with her daughter on the phone after the win.

“Si Winwyn, tumawag sa akin, siguro mga after two hours siguro…umiiyak. Umiiyak din ako sa phone na sobrang saya, ‘di mo pa rin mapaliwanag,” GMA News quoted her as saying.
