Xander Ford files cyber-bullying complaint

Xander Ford today, Oct. 30, headed to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cyber Crime Group to file a formal complaint against those who uploaded the old video of him bashing Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo.

After the video went viral, Bernardo’s fans and other netizens defended the actress and attacked Ford. Ford’s camp claimed he received grave threats that affected both him, his family, and his career.

One of his managers claimed that the bullying has even led Ford to attempt suicide, and TV projects and events in and out of the country allegedly had to be either postponed or cancelled because of the incident.

“Pumunta na po ako dito para magpatulong sa mga kinauukulan para matigil na ‘yung pambubully ng mga tao sa mga kagaya ko. Gusto ko pong matapos na ‘yung mga paninira, ginagawang mali sa akin,” Ford told the media.

Ford’s management filed a complaint against the original uploader Dave Alvarez and Angelo Rozol, who provided the full video featuring Ford’s face.

In the viral videos, Ford was caught ranting about how Bernardo’s fans wonder why the actress did not snatch the title of FHM’s sexiest woman

“Natatawa kasi ako…May mga fans na nagrereact kung bakit daw si Nadine [Lustre] yung naging top 1 [sa FHM’s sexiest], bakit daw hindi si Kathryn Bernardo. Diyos ko, alam niyo si Nadine, deserve niya na maging top 1,” Ford said in one of the videos.

“Meron bang sexy [na] sakang?” he added, referring to Bernardo.

Ford’s camp claimed that the video was purposefully released after his launch as Xander Ford to ruin his career.

“Very malicious po yung pag-upload, very timely [na] inupload during the time na Xander na siya,” one of his managers said.

PNP assured Ford that he has grounds to file a complaint and that they will launch an investigation, starting with Alvarez’ social media account, where they will extract “all possible evidence”.
