Kris Aquino admits going through depression after leaving ABS-CBN

Far from her bubbly and joyful personality, Kris Aquino shared her personal experience with depression on social media.

The Queen of All Media bared it all on Instagram and said she became depressed after leaving ABS-CBN, her network for more than two decades.

“I was depressed and scared that all doors were closing,” she said.

Aquino added that she kept her insecurities and worries to help as to not burden her family.

“My sisters were worried because I wasn’t me. I shut down and kept to myself because I didn’t want to burden them with my insecurities.”

Soul baring time- there was a period of time when i was depressed & scared that all doors were closing. My sisters were worried because i wasn’t me, i shut down, kept to myself because i didn’t want to burden them w/ my insecurities. My sons & i were financially secure BUT it was painful to not have a venue to continue doing what i love most- connecting w/ you & entertaining you… But God blessed me w/ a new team that restored my confidence… we chose to just keep going & not give up… And my sisters, sons, & i kept PRAYING. Today was a victory, because we signed a new endorsement & it is a perfect match for the new online platform we envisioned & continue to build. Tomorrow i’m shooting a branded partnership w/ a new multinational pharma company. Every day i thank God for sending people my way who believed we could survive the storms & embrace the beauty of life’s rainbows. ? Good night & THANK YOU for making me feel #LOVED. May God also give you hope to trust in Him through every chapter of your life. ❤️❤️❤️

The multimedia queen has done everything from hosting talk shows and game shows to acting in movies and television dramas, and said what she missed the most was “connecting” with the audience.

“It was painful to not have a venue to continue doing what I love most – connecting with you and entertaining you,” she shared.

Currently, Aquino is producing vlogs and other online content through her production company, K Productions.

She is keeping busy with her endorsement deals and webisodes, admitting that she “missed the pressure and exhaustion from work”.

“Thank You God for making me this tired again, because I super missed it.”

Aquino is set to join the cast of the Hollywood adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s book “Crazy Rich Asians”.

This was an unguarded moment captured by jack while i was waiting to be called up on stage… i just used the RISE IG filter, because at this precise moment i vividly recall the thoughts running through my head- that this has been such a learning & strengthening journey. Yes, i’ll admit- i am weird, as i write this post naluluha ako because i’m so happy to be this tired at a little past 1 in the morning. Realizing how much i missed this pressure & this exhaustion from work, and weird talaga ko, kasi na e-excite na mapapagod ulit bukas because i’m shooting another series of webisodes for our country’s #1 bank. Thank You God for making me this tired again- because i super missed it…i hope He also blesses you w/ the granting of all your hearts’ prayers. GOOD NIGHT. ❤️ #PLDTHome
