Less than a month before she vies for the crown, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017 Winwyn Marquez is setting herself as a candidate to watch out for after being featured on Promociones Gloria, a newspaper in Bolivia.
The Bolivian publication named her as “La Reina De Asia” or “The Queen of Asia.”
Marquez shared a photo of the newspaper page on her Instagram account and expressed how honored she is as the first representative of the Philippines in the pageant.

“It’s such an honor to be the first ever Filipina and only Asian to compete in this prestigious pageant,” she captioned the photo.
The actress-turned-beauty queen also shared a short introduction video of herself on Facebook, touring viewers around the country’s historic site, Intramuros.
“The Philippines and Spain have shared history, culture, values and traditions for centuries and I am very honored to be the first ever Filipina to be part of this prestigious pageant,” she said in the video.

This year, more countries with Spanish heritage and cultural influence are invited to join the 26-year-old beauty pageant celebrating Hispanic heritage and culture.
Marquez is set to compete in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on November 4.
