It seems that no one can stop Alisah Bonaobra to fulfill her dreams on becoming an international star, not even Simon Cowell.
Bonaobra was initially eliminated along with fellow Filipina Gaga Lord in the Boot Camp after the judges picked 16-year-old Rai-elle Williams to move to the next round.
The three, together with Natalie Lomax, performed Mariah Carey’s hit “We Belong Together”.
Instead of leaving the stage, Bonaobra begged judges to give her a second chance.
Judge Nicole Scherzinger even went to the stage to comfort her when suddenly, Bonaobra belted portion of “We Belong Together” which caught Cowell’s attention.
“Based on what you’ve done there, from what I can hear, we are going to give you a pass on this one,” he said to Bonaobra.
The former “The Voice Philippines” runner-up redeemed herself in her second chance as she performed “Defying Gravity” from the musical “Wicked”.
This time, Bonaobra was permitted by the judges to stay in the competition and try to impress them in the Six Chair Challenge.
Some viewers expressed their gratitude for giving Bonaobra a second chance to fulfill her goal in the competition.
Thankfully Simon changed his mind about @alisah_tvoph, you can’t deny and leave talent out like that #XFactor #XFbootcamp

Good on alisah for fighting for her place. She is definitely one of the best this year #xfactor

However, others felt it was unfair for other contestants.
#xfactor Alisah cried like a spoilt child and got a second chance… maybe everyone should do that next year…
