The highly-anticipated “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” starring Paulo Avelino as General Gregorio del Pilar has finally released its sneak peek.
On September 8, TBA Studios uploaded the teaser for the sequel to the commercially successful and critically acclaimed 2015 film “Heneral Luna”.
The teaser trailer shows the “Promise of Forever” star in his wartime clothes, walking on the top a mountain to pick up an ingrained sword on the land and insert it on his scabbard.
“Tinanghal kang pinakamatapang, makabayan at tampok sa mga bayaning kilala. Ngunit kung nais mong mahalin kita, hayaan mong mahalin ko ang isang lalaking mayayakap ko. Hindi isang bayaning nasa ibabaw ng mga ulap. Gusto kong sumandal sa bisig ng isang lalaking alam ang kanyang hangganan pagka’t natuloy na niya ang tungkulin niya sa bayan,” a female voice-over narrated in the teaser trailer.
The teaser trailer coincides with the two-year anniversary release of “Heneral Luna” in the Philippines.
It is also currently the third trending video in YouTube Philippines.
“Heneral Luna” is the most successful historical film in the country’s box-office history after earning Php 256 million against its Php 80 million budget.
The role of Avelino as one of the youngest general in the Philippines already made a cameo in the 2015 film.
Mon Confiado, Epy Quizon, Leo Martinez, and Benjamin Alves will reprise their role as Emilio Aguinaldo, Apolinario Mabini, Pedro Paterno, and Manuel L. Quezon, respectively
The film is still in its production and it’s expected to be released in 2018. It will be directed and written by Jerrold Tarrog.
