MMA rematch looms after new Baron-Kiko ruckus

It seems Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos have become mortal enemies after a new encounter by the two actors almost ended in a brawl like what happened last year.

An uninvited Geisler suddenly appeared in a press conference of the mixed martial arts organizer URCC at the Winford Hotel and Casino in Manila on Monday. Matos was at the presscon being one of the fighters featured in URCC’s “URCC 31: Vendetta” to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 12.

Geisler sat beside Matos took the mike and dared him to a rematch of their MMA bout last year that ended in a draw. Some unsavory remarks from Geisler irked Matos, who pushed him hard knocking him down.

Cooler heads intervened, separating the two. Geisler was led out of the ballroom as Matos was yelling that he will see him on August 12.

Incidentally, Matos still has no opponent in URCC 31: Vendetta leading pundits to suspect that the presscon ruckus was just a stunt by the two or the URCC to raise interest, and patrons, to the August fight. In other words, a rematch of their URCC fight on June 25, 2016.

That fight ended in a draw and Geisler later admitted his match with Matos was just part of a documentary film, so the actions were staged.
