Abu Dhabi Foundation to distribute 1.7m free Iftar meals in UAE

Abu Dhabi-based Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation is set to distribute 1.7 million Iftar meals in the UAE this Ramadan season.

Mohamed Haji Al Khouri, director-general of the foundation, said the group partners with 542 Emirati families in 100 locations across the UAE to distribute free meals in 100 locations across the UAE.

Al Khouri added the foundation will also conduct surprise visits in the locations to investigate the quality of meals and check if it complies with the standards of health, WAM reported.

A total of 184 coordinators and supervisors will be assigned for communication and food distribution.

He added the foundation celebrates its 10th consecutive year in service through the continuation of the Iftar project.

The report said Al Khouri’s team has partnered with several strategic sponsors, who expressed willingness participate in the cause.
