Apparently, Jollibee still had something up its sleeves when it brought the Internet to tears last February.
Ahead of the celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday, the fast food chain released a sequel to the short film “Date”, which tells the story of Joey, a boy who fulfills his deceased father’s wish to treat his mother to a Valentine’s date.
This time, the video, titled “Parangal (Award)”, features a grown-up Joey citing her mother’s heroics during his graduation.
In his graduation speech, Joey pays tribute to her mother’s efforts to raise him while dealing with hardships and setbacks brought by single-handedly raising him.
Jollibee ends the video with a message that reads: “Para sa mga nanay na handang gawin ang lahat para sa anak (To the mothers who will do everything for their children).”
The video has been viewed for more than 1.5 million times and gathered 62,000 in less than 24 hours.
Jollibee’s Facebook account also replies to comments with “Walang katulad ang pagmamahal ng isang ina (A mother’s love is unmatchable)” remarks.
