Philippines’ very own Tony Award-winning singer and actress Lea Salonga is coming to Dubai in September for a two-night musical spectacle.
Announced via Dubai Opera’s official Instagram account, Salonga will be taking the stage to perform some of her most beloved Disney hits and Broadway classics on September 22 and 23. Tickets for the event will go on sale on the Dubai Opera website at 9am tomorrow, Tuesday.
Salonga was the original star of “Miss Saigon,” in the role of Kim. She also provided the singing voices of two Disney princesses, Jasmine and Mulan. She is also the first Asian actress to play the role of Eponine in “Les Miserables” on Broadway.
The singer also starred in numerous local Filipino movies such as “Sana Maulit Muli” opposite original heartthrob, Aga Muhlach, as well as, having sold more than 19 million copies of her albums worldwide, making her one of the best-selling Filipino artists of all time.
