When we all thought Rachelle Ann Go was already at the peak of her success as a theatre actress when she landed the roles Fantine in Les Miserables and Gigi in Miss Saigon for its Broadway run. She surprised and made Pinoys once again when she was chosen to play the lead role in West End production’s Hamilton.
“God humbles my spirit,” was Rachelle Ann Go’s reaction to everyone who congratulated her after announcing she got the most coveted lead in the London production of the musical.
The announcement was made on Jan. 27 and she was greeted with love and supports from Pinoys all over the world who were happy and proud about the news.
Hamilton is a sung-through musical about the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, with music, lyrics and book by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Rachelle Ann is currently in New York for rehearsals in Miss Saigon where she will play Gigi and will be open on March 1 at the Broadway Theater. After which, she will leave New York to return to London for the London’s musical rehearsals a few months before its premiere on November 21 opening at the Victoria Palace Theater.
