Kris Aquino not barred from joining GMA, network official says

An official from GMA Network has revealed that there is no assurance that Kris Aquino will have a program in the network this year.

“‘Yan ang hindi ko pa alam. Wala talaga kaming alam kasi iba ang nagma-manage sa kanya. Wala pa kaming naririnig na ganyan, somehow,” Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA’s Senior Vice President for Entertainment TV said in a press conference on Monday.

Despite this, Rasonable clarified that Kris is not barred from the network.

She cited a recent guesting of Aquino in “Yan Ang Morning.” Rasonable said, “If she were not welcome, she would not have guested in the first place.”

She also said that Kris is welcome to become a blocktimer. Like most blocktimers, she will have to undergo the same proposal and approval process, according to her.

In the meantime, the Queen of All Media is busy with her other projects. In another GMA report, Kris was shown launching a new food business venture called Nacho Bimby. Aside from business, Aquino is also occupied with her new online projects, primarily her Facebook page. Her most recent appearances has been through Facebook Live, such as doing several interviews with Maine Mendoza. This was part of what she calls “Unscripted with Kris.” She also has her own series called “Kitchen Stories by Kris” which also available on her Facebook page.

Kris left ABS-CBN, her network for 20 years, in September 2016 and is now under the management of TAPE Inc. – the company behind Eat! Bulaga.
