Emma Watson wears Pinoy-designed shoes

Actress Emma Watson recently wore the Hey Simone heels, a pair from Filipina designer and restaurateur Bianca Moran’s latest collection.

The United Nations Goodwill ambassador attended the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) 9th Annual Film Benefit wearing a little black dress paired with the heels.

“Tuesday night was pretty monumental for me, for @susistudio. The inspiring @emmawatson wore our shoes to Chanel’s film benefit at MoMA. Someone pinch me. #LongLiveHermione,” Moran said in an Instagram post.

The Hey Simone pair, with 3-inch heels, is made with recycled microsuede and rubber and costs $185 (around P9,189), the report said.

According to the SUSI Studio website, the Hey Simone heels is inspired by the French philosopher and feminist Simone de Beauvoir.

“Hey Simone is designed for women on their never-ending quest for form and function with just the right amount of lift,” the Los Angeles-based lifestyle company reportedly said.

Watson has also been known for taking a step towards fashion revolution, the news portal pointed out.

In this year’s Met Gala, she reportedly participated in the Green Carpet Challenge—a movement that works with stars and iconic designers to promote sustainable style on the red carpet—by proudly wearing a Calvin Klein-Eco-Age gown, which was “crafted from three different fabrics, all woven from yarns made from recycled plastic bottles.”

“Plastic is one of the biggest pollutants on the planet. Being able to repurpose this waste and incorporate it into my gown for the #‎MetGala proves the power that creativity, technology and fashion can have by working together,” the actress said.
