Don’t ditch the knapsack

We have all reached the stage of constantly searching for the trendiest and versatile back packs when we were in mid-school but who says back packs are limited to that alone? Who says knapsacks aren’t “in” for the young adults?

Like skinny jeans or certain brands of trainer, the backpack has achieved a kind of cultural convergence. It is worn by all social groups, whatever age you maybe. It has come a long way and have left the great outdoors, graduated beyond the gap year, and flocked into the city.

There are no limitations to the usage of backpacks but we’re not saying you pair it with your corporate suits (of course, appropriate accessory rules applies). However, backpacks are a classic symbol of escape and adventure. We can also say outgoingness and fun.

According to the market intelligence firm Euromonitor, the value of backpack sales in the UK has grown every year since 2008: last year they were worth $107.8m. In the US, in the same period, the market grew by 44%. The fashion e-tailer Asos stocks 412 styles – because these days, there is a backpack for everyone.
