Cayman Islands: Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is on a three-day visit to Cayman Islands, giving the local contingent of Filipinos the rare opportunity to see their reigning pageant winner up close and personal.
Wurtzbach graced the Pinoy Pride Independence Month concert at the Lions Center on Friday featuring a performance from Filipino actress and singer Bianca King, along with other special celebrity guests. The night was fun and entertaining, as well as offering the chance to see a reigning Miss Universe in person, Cayman Compass reported.
While on island, the Miss Universe contingent will be visiting local attractions and spending time in George Town, Camana Bay and the eastern districts and taking a trip to Stingray City.
A meet-and-greet is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Lobster Pot, where potential Miss Cayman contestants will be able to meet Miss Universe and Miss Cayman Islands.
Derri Dacres-Lee, chairperson of the Miss Cayman Committee reportedly said she is looking forward to speaking with young women interested in becoming the next Miss Cayman Islands.
“This is an amazing opportunity, as our current and past queens will attest to. In addition to finding out more about pageantry experiences, I invite the public to come out and meet our Miss Cayman Islands and the reigning Miss Universe from the Philippines,” Lee further said.
Tickets for the concert at the Lions Center are $25 and are on sale at all Digicel, Jacques Scott, Reflections, Liquor 4 Less and MoneyGram locations. They will also be available at the gate.
Tickets for the meet-and-greet at Lobster Pot are on sale for $50 at Le Classique in George Town and Sand Angels in Camana Bay and from Miss Cayman committee members. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door. Guests will have an opportunity to be professionally photographed with Brooks and Wurtzbach at the end of the event, Cayman Compass reported.
