The Dubai Media Office clarified on Wednesday that the rumors being circulated online as regards alleged “security threats targeting Dubai” are fake.
In a Twitter post, the Dubai Media Office warned citizens, residents, and visitors to refrain from sharing this false piece of information within their online social circles to break its chain.
It also emphasized that the circulating rumor was not issued by any official source from the Iranian Government.
Spreading rumors is a criminal offence in the UAE, as it could adversely affect the economy and destabilize the security of the country.
This crime is punishable by law with a fine of up to Dh1 million.

This, as the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reaffirmed that the recent developments in the region would not affect the UAE citizens, residents, and visitors.
The Ministry, in a statement carried by Emirates News Agency WAM, stressed that all sectors across the country are business as usual.
