9 injured as Pinoy-crewed tanker sparks fire in South Korea

At least 9 sailors were reportedly injured after two oil tankers caught fire at a South Korean port on Saturday.

Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported that an explosion occurred on the Stolt Groenland, a 25,000-tonne, Cayman Island-flagged oil tanker at around 10:50AM.

The oil tanker has 25 crew members on board including Russians and Filipinos.

The fire spread to another unidentified oil tanker.

All sailors on Stolt Groenland were rescued.

Nine were severely injured but their nationalities remain to be unidentified as of this writing.
