The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation declared November 18, Sunday, as a holiday for employees in the private sector in celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
With the holiday, workers in the public sector will have a long weekend starting November 16, Friday, until November 18, Sunday. Work resumes on November 19, Monday.
The announcement was made following the declaration of the holiday for workers in the public sector.
Earlier, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department of the Government of Dubai announced that the holiday date is November 20, Tuesday.
However, the UAE Cabinet eventually decided to move this to November 18.
