WATCH: First landport terminal in Metro Manila built like an airport

With the sheer size and modern facilities of the new transport terminal in Metro Manila, the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) looks like an airport more than just a bus terminal.

Dubbed as the first “landport” in the country, it is expected to open in November and will serve as the main land-based transportation terminal for passengers going to the south. The terminal was built under the Duterte administration’s Build. Build. Build program.

It will serve as the converging point of jeepneys, buses, taxis, and other public utility vehicles.

Like a real airport, the terminal has waiting areas, electronic ticketing counters, prayer rooms, and breastfeeding rooms.

The terminal also has shower areas and has floor to ceiling glass windows.

It can accommodate up to 20,000 passengers daily and is expected to ease traffic in southern Metro Manila particularly in Pasay City and Paranaque City, as it will serve as the transfer point for provincial and in-city transportation.

Moreover, one of the four office towers available for leasing will also be opened by the first half of 2019.
