Job Description and Requirements


Candidates must have at least High School Diploma.
The job requires Male applicants only
Minimum of 2 years working experience is required for this position.

Overall Job Description:

Carries out maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the equipment and carries out the tasks assigned by Supervisor (Main workshop), including disassembling units and inspecting parts for wear.
Determines cause of failure of equipment and proposes relevant course of action.
Ensures maximum operational availability of equipment by diagnostic work and repair methods, and ensures repairs are carried out in a cost effective manner with consideration given to quality of work and longevity of equipment.
Carries out duties independently when called out and reports breakdowns and faults.
Ensures that emergency work is followed up by reporting to the Supervisor.
Informs the Supervisor of any workmanship issues, requests checking of work where appropriate and seeks approval of completed work.
Logs details of the job carried out to be in the provided work orders, including the man hours, and provides full daily activity report.
Ensures that work is undertaken in a safe manner and that practices conform to safety regulations and procedures as defined by POC.
Ensures accurate up to date information is provided for input into the CMMS System.
Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment he/she is responsible for.
Education and Experience:

Requires a high school diploma and additional vocational/technical education (diploma level in a mechanical, electrical or hydraulics field).

At least two years experience working as an electrician/mechanic, preferably within a port environment. However, other industry sectors such as mining, steel, construction and automotive will be considered.
Key Duties:

Must be familiar with electronic instrumentation.
Requires ability to interpret mechanical/hydraulic diagrams, service & parts manuals.
Must be able to replace/repair/adjust major electrical/electronic parts such as PLC drive control system, communication drive system, at a high level of difficulty and complexity.
