Duties and responsibilities

PEOPLE:

Sets goals with the outlet manager and delegates tasks to improve outlet/departmental performance.
Ensures that service colleagues are knowledgeable on both food and beverage menus.
Ensures perfect environment/communication at the outlet between culinary and service team.
Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
Assists the Outlet Manager in cascading and executing departmental and property emergency procedures to ensure colleagues are trained in safety procedures.
Observes service behaviour of employees and provides feedback to individuals of the team.
Monitors progress and leads discussion with colleagues when necessary.
Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
Cascades to colleagues all the information discussed on the F&B briefing.
Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings.
Ensures all colleagues are participating in Lobster Ink/ E-learning.
To ensure that you and all reporting colleagues maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times.
To assist your Outlet Manager in regularly monitoring staff performance against agreed criteria.
To assist your Outlet Manager with the Orientation of new members of staff.

GUEST EXPERIENCE:

Ensuring and Providing Exceptional Customer Service
Sets a positive example for guest relations.
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
Responds, handles and reports guest problems and complaints using Glitch management system.
Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
Strives to improve service performance.
Reviews comment cards, Heartbeat and other social media results with employees.
To have a good knowledge of all hotel facilities and be able to answer guest questions in a quick, polite and helpful manner.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS:

Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies (IHG, ADTCA, ADFCA) and procedures.
Manages departmental inventories and maintains equipment together with Stewarding department.
Being knowledgeable of FBM and inventory stock management.
Assists the Outlet Manager in planning of the weekly duty roster/vacation plan/public holidays/overtime.
Assists team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth.
To be security conscious with respect to guest, staff and hotel property/welfare and to report suspicious circumstances to your Outlet Manager.
To ensure the departmental area is maintained in a safe, hygienic and presentable state and to report any damage to furniture, fittings and equipment to your Outlet Manager.
To deputize for your Outlet Manager in his/her absence.
Reports to Outlet Manager of any colleague grievances.

Previous Food and Beverage leadership experience required
University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
