Job Description

Assist the Activity & Recreation Manager to manage effective operations of the Activities & Recreation department in meeting the standards of the resort.
Supervises all recreation, sports, fitness center, kids club as well as the beach/ pool areas.
Interact with guests, suppliers, contractors and other members of the resort with a positive approach and a professional manner. Cooperate, coordinate and communicate effectively with other department heads as required.
Supervises the overall activities of the Recreation department including the Beach and the Pool area and to introduce attractive programs and promote activities according to the business needs.
Assist with the implementation of SOPs and to be responsible for the safety of the guests and the employees.
To be responsible for all the equipment of the department (sport equipment, baby/kids material, music, costumes, office equipment, fitness center equipments etc.)
Monitor all Recreation, sports, beach/pool, and particularly guest contact personnel ensuring the recognition of repeat guests and other VIPS receive special attention/recognition.
Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
Conduct such function as interviewing, orientation, hiring, performance appraisals, coaching, counseling, training and suspending if necessary, to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity.
Identifies training needs, develops formal training plans and implements training sessions on the job as and when required.
Assumes overall responsibility for maintaining standards to ensure that facilities and equipment are clean, in good condition and well maintained using cost effective methods and solutions.
Responsible for a Recreation, Sports & Animation Program for the employees of Desert Islands Resort & Spa according to the operations.
Monitor and control the inventories for operating equipment and supplies.

Five years professional level experience in Activities & Recreation.
Valid UAE driverís license.
Knowledge of budgeting practices, and the ability to comprehend and determine these budgets for assigned program areas.
Ability to work with the public in an effective manner and to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
First Aid, CPR, and AED certified.
