Whether it’s stolen or one forgets their parcel, it is only by sheer luck for a passenger to recover anything left in a taxi.
An overseas Filipina couldn’t thank an honest taxi driver enough for returning her bag containing more than P900,000 in Davao City.
Raymond Gonzaga went to ABS-CBN Davao City after noticing that his passenger left her bag in his taxi on September 28.
The bag contains Japanese Yen worth more than P900,000, pieces of jewelry, cellphone, and important documents like bank book and passport.
Gonzaga said that he could not take his passenger’s belongings despite earning a meager amount of money, saying that he’s a strong believer of ‘karma’.
The OFW identified as Ruth Muntag-Koitabashi went to the station and thanked Gonzaga for returning her belongings.
“Maraming salamat! ‘Di ko maisip kung tuluyan itong nawala, nandito lahat,” ABS-CBN News quoted Muntag-Koitabashia, an OFW based in Japan.
