Pajulas is the older sister of the eldest victim, Lorry Litada, an overseas Filipino worker and a resident of Japan. She admitted to beating and stabbing the victims, Litada and her daughter, Mai Motegi, to death.

According to the police, a nephew of the sisters said Litada and Motegi were carrying PHP 5 million in cash for a property transaction they planned to have while in the Philippines.
