The weather department reported light rain over Al Bateen Airport, Al Hudrariyat island, and Al Muroor on Monday morning. Meanwhile, heavy rain, thunder, and lightning were reported over Mirfa and Al Sila in the Al Dhafrah region.
In response to the prevailing weather conditions, the NCM has issued yellow and orange alerts for several regions, cautioning the public about potential hazards and advising them to take necessary precautions when venturing outside.
After reaching scorching highs of 45ºC, the mercury is expected to come down across the country. In the capital city of Abu Dhabi, temperatures are projected to hover around 39ºC, while in Dubai, they will reach 40ºC. Humidity levels in both cities will range from 20% to 65%.
The Meteorological Department anticipates light to moderate winds, occasionally fresh to strong, accompanied by clouds causing blowing dust and sand, which may reduce horizontal visibility. Along the coasts, the sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, with occasional roughness due to cloud activity.
Residents are urged to stay updated with the latest weather advisories and exercise caution while driving or participating in outdoor activities. With the ongoing rainfall, it is essential to be mindful of potential slippery road conditions and localized flooding in low-lying areas.
As the UAE experiences this shift in weather patterns, it is recommended that individuals make necessary adjustments to their daily routines and dress appropriately to ensure their comfort and safety.
The NCM will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates as the weather evolves.
