Al Ain’s Grace Valley Indian School has announced that its students no longer need to wear masks outdoors, after the majority of its students had been vaccinated.
More than 85 percent of its students were inoculated to date, and the school has since been allowed by the authorities to remove face masks for outdoor settings.

The physical distancing requirements have also been removed and school events including assemblies and graduation ceremonies will be permitted.
Grace Valley’s successful vaccination efforts were recognized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek). The school reached Blue School Initiative’s top ‘blue’ tier.
This marks the privilege that the Abu Dhabi schools have after they reach good vaccination rates and return to pre-pandemic operations.

The Grace Valley Indian school can host inter-school extracurricular activities with other ‘blue’ tier schools. The events include sports tournaments and competitions and parents will be allowed to attend “on-campus events, provided they adhere to entry requirements.” The school will also be able to reinstate field trips.
Authorities deem the school as an exemplary role model in the Abu Dhabi education sector, and hope that other schools will also follow similar measures.
