Jeff Bezos, the president of American e-commerce company Amazon, bought a nine-acre Beverly Hills Mansion in Los Angeles for $165 million—the most expensive property in the county.
According to a report by Wall Street Journal, Bezos bought the property from DreamWorks co-founder David Geffen. The mansion was originally designed for the late Jack Warner of Warner Brothers in the 1930s.
The estate comprises a 1,260-square-meter Georgian-style mansion, terraces and gardens, a tennis court, a pool, two guesthouses, and a golf course.
With this new mansion, Bezos has surpassed the record of News Corporation heir Lachlan Murdoch, who purchased a mansion in Beverly Hills for $150 million.
Forbes reported Bezos, 56, is worth around $131 billion, making him the richest person in the world.
