President Rodrigo Duterte wants intensified action against illegal recruiting due to the continuing abuses committed against Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Duterte ordered Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista to do more and fight illegal recruitment.
“I am sending him a message now that you have to do more, to go after the (illegal) recruitment,” Duterte said in a speech in Malacañang.
He added that Bautista knows how to find the illegal recruiters and get them.
“My orders are really to get them,” he said.
“Since you are a military man, then I can hope you can come up with a structure, a bigger one, to go after itong recruitment and so goes for the Department of Labor and everybody,” the President added.
