As part of the initiative to boosting bilateral relations and promote Filipino identity, the Philippines’ embassy in the UAE has earmarked several events throughout the year with an aim to raise cultural awareness through food.
Hjayceelyn Quintana, ambassador of the Philippines to the UAE, hopes to win the hearts and minds of the many nationalities living in the Arab territory through good food.
The month-long culinary festival will be launched as part of the Philippine Independence Day celebration in June, Quintana said.
It will be the first big attempt by the Philippines to reach out to people with the help of Filipino restaurants and establishments.
The celebration will also serve as a stepping stone for the Philippines as it gears up for the Dubai Expo 2020
