The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed seeking the help of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in scrutinizing syndicates that are taking advantage of the passport appointment system.
DFA was prompted to investigate the matter since a number of applicants complain on social media about the fixers selling passport appointment slot for P1,000 each.
The foreign affairs department also seeks applicant’s understanding for the technical issues on its website due to the heavy number of applicants from time to time.
Applicants were advised to check the website regularly for available slots being opened.
