A fine of Dh2,000 and 12 black points will be sanctioned to all motorists who will use their honks loudly and recklessly.
The Abu Dhabi police relayed the amended traffic law that aims to lessen the noise pollution on the road.
This could also prevent vehicular accidents for drivers who easily lose their concentration due to noisy surroundings.
Since 2017, the authorities have succeeded in implementing traffic regulations including laws against driving while using mobile phones, using expired tires, and ignoring traffic lights.
