OFW salisi victims get their passports, IDs back

Police have returned important documents to two of the three overseas Filipino workers (OFW) who lost their belongings in a “salisi” modus operation on Nov. 8.

The two OFWs have their passports and identification cards back in their possession but the police are still searching for their money and other belongings, as well as the documents of the third OFW.

According to the police, a vendor returned the stolen documents, saying s/he had picked it up at Mega Q-Mart in Cubao, Quezon City.

The three OFWs from Kuwait previously reported to Pasay City police that a woman named Gabriel Rut pretended to help them find a hotel to stay at while waiting for their flight to General Santos City, their hometown.

Rut allegedly stole their cash worth P80,000, cellphones and pasalubong for their families while they were eating out.

Pasay City police urged the public to call their Investigation Division phone number (02) 831-8070 if they chance upon any valuable information.
