An Emirati man on Saturday saved two Filipinos from drowning in a Khor Fakkan beach, after the latter’s jetski flipped over.
Othman Al Naqbi was driving along the beachside at around 4:15pm when he heard the Filipinos’ cries for help, local news agencies reported.
“I saw the couple in the sea water battling the waves and their jet ski away from them, they were already wearing lifejackets but asking for help” Gulf News quoted Al Naqbi.
Al Naqbi immediately called the authorities to report the incident, then removed his clothes and, despite his shoulder injury, jumped into the water to save the couple.
The Khorr Fakkan resident brought the Filipinos ashore, where they were given first aid and taken to the hospital for a check-up afterwards, Gulf News reported.
The Sharjah Police also awarded Al Naqbi for his bravery and prompt response
